Terms of use
The rules that apply when you use FinScan, with or without an account.
Updated on October 10, 2026
The service
FinScan, published by KERN-IT SRL, retrieves the annual accounts filed by Belgian companies with the Central Balance Sheet Office of the National Bank of Belgium and produces an analysis: key amounts, ratios, points of vigilance, vigilance level and a report written by an artificial intelligence.
The service is in beta. It evolves, may be interrupted for maintenance, and some features may change.
With or without an account
- Without an account, a limited number of analyses is offered. The limit applies per browser and per connection.
- A free account gives a monthly quota of analyses. Higher plans, open by invitation during the beta, give higher quotas and teamwork.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for the access you give your team members.
- An analysis already run for a company and a year is reused: reading it uses no quota.
What is allowed, and what is not
You may read the analyses, share them by their link, and quote extracts while mentioning FinScan.
It is forbidden:
- to extract the site or its analyses in an automated or systematic way (robots, scripts, scraping);
- to bypass the usage limits, for instance by multiplying browsers or accounts;
- to present a FinScan analysis as an official rating, an audit or an expert opinion;
- to use the service to harm a company or a person.
KERN-IT may suspend access that does not follow these rules.
What the analyses are worth
Analyses are generated automatically and may contain errors. They rely on accounts that, depending on the case, are several months old. They are neither investment advice, nor a credit rating, nor accounting, tax or legal advice. Details are in the disclaimer.
Any decision taken on the basis of a FinScan analysis remains yours. Check the figures in the official filing and seek advice for any important decision.
Liability
KERN-IT does its best for the service to work and for analyses to be faithful to the filed accounts, without being able to guarantee the absence of error. Within the limits allowed by law, KERN-IT is not liable for decisions taken on the basis of an analysis, nor for indirect damage. Nothing in these terms limits KERN-IT's liability for intentional or gross misconduct.
Correction and removal
A company or a named person who notices an error may request a correction or a removal through the contact form. The analysis concerned is reviewed and, if needed, corrected or removed.
Personal data
Its processing is described in the privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change. The update date is shown at the top of the page; significant changes are announced to account holders by email.

These terms are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute falls under the courts of Brussels, subject to the mandatory rules protecting consumers.
